Miko Okada Photo Exhibition The sound of the wind

Whenever I look at a photograph that someone else took, I think of it as my own. That may be because I only see the world from the point of view of others, which might suggest that my sense of perception is not as keen as it should be.

So, in order to hone my perception, that is, to be more aware of and get more out of the places I photograph, I created a process whereby I would revisit a location and photograph it again. Just the physical effort this required made me notice things more. So, I went for an illusionary affect by erasing the string from which the photos were hung and capturing the subtle incongruencies between them caused by the sunlight and wind.
My intention here was to perceive more than I could ever imagine in these places.
