Tei Kaijin Photo Exhibition Illusion Engine

In 2015, I started taking medication. Therefore, I slowly lost the ability to dream like a boiling frog. With the outer and the inner world, substance and imagination, presence and absence, missing people and missing landscapes, and improvisational editing, I began to explore the boundaries between reality and illusion. In this series, while gazing at civilization, truth, beauty and objects, I forced myself to expand my field of view in this simulated labyrinth, externalizing the complexity, mystery and mental representations. Setting such an image as necessary for dreaming, I created a series of photographic works in which I imagined and considered my dreams. Exploring leftover experiences, overlooked poeticality and memories through a variety of materials, I appeal to perceptual themes.
