What Is 360 Reality Audio?
360 Reality Audio uses Sony's object-based spatial audio technology empowering the creation of immersive music experience such as feeling as if you were at a live concert experience. Artists and music creators are provided a canvas where they can map sound sources such as vocals, chorus and instruments with positional information of distance and angle to suit their creative and artistic purpose leveraging a 360-degree spherical environment.
When listeners play back the resulting content, they can enjoy a music experience that immerses them At the center of the content creators experience, just as they intended.

The 360 Reality Audio Music Format was designed around being optimized for music distribution. In an effort to avoid the challenges of proprietary technology, Sony has been partnering with Fraunhofer IIS, part of Europe’s largest organization for applied research, to ensure the format complies with MPEG-H 3D Audio standard, an open audio standard.
360 Reality Audio content is available today across a variety of music streaming service providers. The content is most commonly found in super premium plans offering customers better listening experiences and creators improved value.
We intent to support the format across a wide range of products each with their own unique requirements the goal is to streamline the overall integration to simplify for both OEMs and consumers. With mobile being delivered today with our headphone based solutions which benefits from software based optimization.
