Notebook Computer (1997)
The first-generation VAIO® notebook, with a beautiful four-panel magnesium body. Metallic silver and bluish-purple colors made this VAIO® stand out from conventional notebook computers, expanding Sony market share in this category. Remarkably thin at the time, this was an invitation for users to take a notebook with them more often. Innovative design, including a cylindrical battery and coordinated peripherals, gave people a new appreciation for laptops.
