  • Sony Creative Science Award Celebrates 18th Year with Highest Participation
The Sony Creative Science Award (SCSA) is Sony's key CSR program in Singapore and 2015 marks its 18th year of competition. It received its highest participation since inception, with close to 7,000 students from 82 Primary Schools submitting over 4,600 toy entries, once again making SCSA the most popular competition among Primary School students in Singapore. Targeted at students between 7-12 years old, SCSA is an annual program in which students have fun learning about science through hands-on experience of making a toy. Both students and teachers also have the opportunity to attend technical, creativity and communication workshops conducted by science educators.
The 2015 SCSA award ceremony was officiated by Ms Sim Ann, Minister of State, Ministry of Education and Ministry of Communications and Information. A total of 50 prizes were given out to winning students and schools, and the teachers were also recognized for their support to SCSA with certificates. The ceremony concluded with an exhibition of the winning toys, with positive feedback from the students, teachers and parents who attended.
