Regarding Expenses for Mobile Phone Handset Recalls
Information regarding the recent recalls of Sony manufactured mobile phones and the attendant expenses they will incur.
Sony Corporation estimates that a series of recent mobile phone handset recalls involving NTT DoCoMo Inc's "SO503i", KDDI Corporation's "C101S" and "C406S" will cost it approximately 12 billion-yen as of today. Sony plans to clarify details of how these costs will affect its financial results for the first quarter 2001 (the period between April-June, 2001) when they are announced on July 26.
