Sony Announces Executive-Level Changes in Management



Tokyo, Japan - Sony Corporation today announced executive-level changes in management, with new Director, Statutory Auditor, and Corporate Executive Officer appointments. The new appointments of Directors and Statutory Auditors are subject to approval at the General Meeting of Shareholders at the end of June 1999. The new Corporate Executive Officer appointments are subject to approval at a meeting of the Sony Corporation Board of Directors, to be held after the General Meeting of Shareholders.

1) New Board of Director candidates
Teruhisa Tokunaka, current President and Representative Director,

In further strengthening the Corporate Executive Officer system, Sony Corporation will increase the levels of Corporate Executive Officers from three to four, subject to approval at a meeting of its Board of Directors to be held after the General Meeting of Shareholders at the end of June:
