An EPG (Electronic Program Guide) equipped digital CS tuner model, introduced to coincide with the launch of "CS Perfect TV!", the first satellite digital broadcasting channel in Japan. In the United States, a form of EPG similar in style to (printed?) TV Guides already existed, expressing the time line horizontally and the broadcast stations (channels) vertically. In Japan, by utilizing the fact that Kanji characters could be read on the TV screen, it became possible to express the date, time, category, and program name in four vertical columns. Consequently, this model helped create a unique EPG style.
