Sony Brazil Manaus holds Eco Event

In June 2012, Sony Brazil Manaus in coordination with the Environmental Committee of the Brazil-Nipo (Japan) Association, celebrated "Environment Week" in MINDU public park by holding an event for 50 students from a local public school. The students learned about the importance of environmental conservation and each student planted a native tree species in the park.

Sony holds Harpy Eagle Event (Panama)

On Dec 9 2011, Sony Inter-American, S.A. (Panama) organized an event that reaffirms its commitment to the environment by supporting the protection and conservation of the Harpy Eagle, Panama's national bird. Sony made a $10,000 contribution to the Harpy Eagle Foundation, a cause Sony Panama has supported for the last 13 years. Participants in the event included the Mayor of Panama and the Ambassador of Japan in Panama.

Sony Brazil plants ties to the community.

In August 2011, Sony Brazil Manaus and Sony Plastics of Amazonia, together with the Amazon Japanese Chamber of Commerce and Industry, gave back to the community by opening a vegetable plantation located in NASCENTES DO MINDU public park. Sony Brazil Earth Day Artwork Contest

In March 2011, Sony Brazil held an Earth Day Calendar Contest at Mindú Park, located on a preservation area in Manaus. 121 children participatedin the contest.Topics related to preservation of the environment were learned through playful activities and theater skits.The goal of this event was to generate greater awareness among children on themes like environmental conservation in their own community.
