Designed to be brighter, easier to set up, and more energy efficient,
this projector consumes a mere 0.05 watts per lumen and saves energy in many ways.
3 W/lm=lamp power consumption/light output

Refinements in VPL-CW255 optics improve energy efficiency. Despite superb brightness of 4500 lumens2 and a high contrast ratio of approximately 3700:1, the projector consumes less energy than previous models1—about 20% less. This efficiency reduces electricity bills.

Use the projector up to 5,000 hours1 before replacing the lamp, thanks to advanced lamp-control technology. Lamps can last about 1.7 times longer2 before replacement is recommended, which saves that much more resources. Dust filters are just as durable and can be replaced at the same time as the lamp. Synchronized replacement makes maintenance easier than for previous projectors, for which lamps and filters are replaced at different times.

Simply press a button on the remote or projector for Eco mode, which reduced power consumption by up to 50% relative to previous models.* The lamp can also be dimmed automatically in standby mode, so that saving energy requires no extra effort. Another feature called "picture muting" reduces lamp output by about 70% when no image is needed. In all, the projector reflects careful energy-efficient design.
