Auto Power ON/OFF setting screen (Advanced mode)

It's easy to forget to turn off photo frames at night before going to bed. To avoid wasting electricity, this frame can turn itself off and on automatically, as scheduled. Hours when the frame is on and off each day can be customized in detail, which helps save energy when it's not in use—at night, during work or school, or when away on vacation. This way, you'll never forget to turn it off.

Although playback surpasses that of the previous, photo-only model (DPF-V1000) with the addition of full HD video playback, a stereo speaker system, and many other refinements, Sony engineers also sought lower power consumption. Energy-efficient power circuitry, LED backlighting, and other innovations have slashed consumption, from 10.1 W to a low 5.2 W.

Better environmental performance was also a priority in DPF-VR100 packaging and manuals. The packaging is now 40% smaller by volume. Using less packaging material enhances product shipment efficiency, which reduces CO₂ emissions in transit. In product documentation, Detailed information is now provided on CD-ROM, enabling much shorter manuals than before. The English manual is 48 pages shorter, for example. This helps reduce paper consumption significantly overall.
