Sony Science Program

Sony Science Program is the original educational workshop program designed for children to learn about the principles and rules of science through various experiments and crafts utilizing Sony¹s technologies and its services. It is also aimed to give children an opportunity to encourage curiosity and nurture their creativity.

Make your own headphones out of plastic bottles and milk cartons and learn about the principle of how sound travels and think about reusing and recycling by using materials found in everyday life.

Make your own IC recorder, play with and learn about the recording and replaying mechanism.

Since 1959, with our philosophy, "Make science widely known among the public" stated in the founding prospectus, Sony has inherited the high ideals of co-founder, Masaru Ibuka and has been engaged in social contribution activities through science educational support.

The "Sony Science Program" started in 2009 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the start of our social contribution activity.

Workshop in Singapore (2010) Workshop in Singapore (2010)

About 5,000 children took part in the program in 2009 and a workshop was held for the first time overseas in the summer of 2010 in Singapore.

With newly added the "3D Workshop", we will continue to provide opportunities where children can learn science through experience in a worldwide setting.
