The“FeliCa”, contactless IC card system provides for a wide variety of applications. Using its technical advantages, a single card will allow you to realize simple and convenient transport ticketing, access control, e-money shopping and much more.
- Contactless communication between the Reader/Writer and the card is activated by electromagnetic waves radiated from the Reader /Writer antenna. FeliCa technology complies with ISO/IEC 18092 communication method.
- The card is durable and thin with the size conforming to ISO /IEC 7810ID-1.
- The basic material of the card is PET plastic that can be easily recycled and exerts minimal adverse influence on the environment even when incinerated.
- High-Speed
Polling, mutual authentication, read/write transactions are all completed within 0.1 second. (Not including application-dependant processing.)
This feature makes the card advantageous to be used for transport ticketing and for multiple applications that require high-speed processing. - High Security
Triple-DES encryption is used for the “Mutual Authentication” between a card and Reader/Writer, Reader/Writer and controller.
Transmission data is encrypted using a “transaction key” which is dynamically generated at every mutual authentication.
These features make forgery and card fraud nearly impossible.
The RC-S860 is the first contactless IC card obtaining EAL4 certification of ISO/IEC 15408 that is the most reliable measure of security level for smart cards worldwide. - Multi-Application
FeliCa can offer multiple services on a single card.
The card can be used in various ways such as transport ticketing, employee ID, access control and e-money for shops, restaurants and vending machines.
Additionally, the card can be used for network access control.
