Tokyo: Interoperable Metropolitan
IC Card Services
East Japan Railway’s Suica card is now established as the standard for IC card tickets. A mobile phone version, Mobile Suica, is also available. PASMO IC card tickets are accepted by almost all private railways, subways and buses in the Tokyo area and are getting popular. As Suica and PASMO IC card services are interoperable, holders of either card can get around Tokyo with only one card. Both cards can also be used for e-money payment at station kiosks and affiliated shops.
