Morning Glory
The morning glory was introduced to Japan from China about 1000 years ago, originally as a medicinal herb. Its Japanese name, which literally means "morning face", was given due to the fact that its flowers open early in the morning and wither by noon.
There are many varieties of morning glory, and its flowers come in many colors including red, white, blue, lavender, and light pink. Some morning glory varieties have striped or tie-dyed like patterns.
CX-NEWS is a Web magazine that presents the latest information on Sony Semiconductor and LCD technologies over the Internet.
