New additions to the Sony lineup include the GPS RF IC CXA3355ER/TQ which features a compact package and low power consumption, and the CXA3355Z module which further adds an LNA and SAW filter to the CXA3355ER/TQ in a single package.
The CXA3355ER is a low power consumption GPS down-converter that uses the latest SiGe BiCMOS process technology. This IC includes an inductor, varactor and other PLL components as well as an IF filter, making it possible to reduce the number of peripheral components.
The CXA3355Z further incorporates external components into a compact package, making it ideal for mobile equipment and other compact, low power consumption applications.

The CXD2951 is the world's first RF + baseband single chip GPS LSI. This high-performance system LSI reduces both the board area and power consumption, and also incorporates Sony's extensive GPS software know-how. It boasts a sensitivity, position accuracy and high-speed TTFF* performance that are the top level in the industry, and can be applied not only to car navigation but also telematics and various mobile equipment.
*TTFF:Time To Fast Fix. The time after power-on or reset until position measurement is output.
