USM-P features

Click to open or close just like a ballpoint pen with a single push. This enables a simple connection to the PC and with the convenient one piece design, you don’t have to worry about losing the cap.


When the data transfer is in progress, the LED illuminates. It is visible from all angles, so you can easily check the status of the data transfer.
The LED indicator illuminates through the clear part.

EasyLock software
EasyLock offers users an easy way to secure their files by strong military grade 256 bit AES encryption

File Rescue software

"x-Pict Story" for Memory Card software
The "x-Pict Story" for Memory Card (Sony original software) can create customized slideshows using your images and music files.


The Sony Micro Vault drive will be identified by name when connected to the computer avoiding any confusion if there are other USB devices connected at the same time. This identification will allow you to quickly identify the Sony MicroVault drive to retrieve your files.


Most computers will automatically recognize the Micro Vault device when connected. Power will also be supplied through USB port, so you do not need an AC adaptor.

*1 To use Micro Vault in USB 2.0 high-speed mode, you need to connect the device to a computer with USB 2.0 interface, USB 2.0 card or board. Some computers or operating systems do not support USB2.0. In that case, please connect to USB1.1 interface.

Micro Vault media contains a system management area. Actual usable capacity is less than the amount shown on the device. Capacity is based on 1GB = 1 billion bytes.

Caution

Keep away from children.
When using Micro Vault for the first time, the device driver is automatically installed.
During installation, it is recommended to disconnect any other accessories or hubs from the computer, and quit running applications. If the Micro Vault is not recognized, the installation of the driver may not have been completed successfully.
Please note that some computers do not start up and recover from sleep mode. This is due to the BIOS settings.
Please handle the Micro Vault with care when plugging in or out of the USB port in order to avoid any damages to the USB connector and to ensure a successful recognition of the device. If the device recognition fails after several attempts, please contact our customer service center near you.

Please remove the Micro Vault from the computer before starting up/re-starting/recovering from sleep mode. Otherwise it may not function properly.

Please keep the Micro Vault away from the electronic devices such TVs and radios when in use to avoid interference.

Please clean the surface with a soft and dry cloth. Do not use or apply harsh material or chemicals when cleaning.

Please do not attach any metal pieces such as a key holder or similar objects in the strap hook.

It is highly recommended to backup files stored in the Micro Vault periodically.
 
Precautions for Transfer and Disposal
If data stored on the Micro Vault is deleted or reformatted using the standard methods, the data only appears to be removed on a superficial level, and it may be possible for someone to retrieve and reuse the data by means of special software.
To avoid information leaks and other problems of this sort, it is recommended that you use commercially available software designed to completely remove all data from the Micro Vault.
