Password Lock is software that allows you to set a password
to prevent unauthorized read/write access to all or part of Micro Vault. Password
Lock creates a security drive that does not appear until access is unlocked by
entering the password, preventing other people from accessing your data.
Please download the software and copy it on to the desktop or on the MICROVAULT.
This software is compatible with Windows Me, 2000, and XP only.(No compatible
with Windows 98/98SE.) |

AutoZip is a convenient application that compresses
files just by drag & drop the files to the "Zip"
folder on the Micro Vault. AutoZip allows you to use the limited
capacity for more.

* Administrator rights are required when using Windows 2000/XP.

| Auto Login software |
Auto Login is a convenient application that
automatically enters IDs and passwords from a database created
on the Micro Vault to Web sites. With Auto Login, you could carry
all your IDs and Passwords with you on the Micro Vault.
Note
* At first, please confirm the README file included in the downloaded
file.
* Auto Login can be used on Windows Me/2000/XP.
* You must login as the Administrator when using Windows 2000/
XP.
* IE5.5 or higher is required.
* You can use Auto Login when two input items such as an ID and
password are required. Auto Login will not operate when only one
item or three or more items are required.
* Auto Login will not operate when separate windows open for ID
and password entry.
* The URL to be accessed must be the same. (If the access point
differs, it is likely that the URL may not be the same even if
you are accessing the same Web site.) |

When formatting the Micro Vault device, use the format software
which you can download from this website.To avoid any changes of the specifications,
do not format the device in any other way. |

Please note that some computers do not start up and recover
from sleep mode. This is due to the BIOS settings. |

It is recommended that the Micro Vault device is treated with
care. If an excess force is added to the device when plug in/out or when it is
inserted, it might be the case that the computer's USB connector is damaged or
that, though rarely, the device is not recognized correctly. In case it happens
and the condition does not improve after repeating some plug in & out, please
contact our customer service center which is most convenient to your access. |

Sony Micro Vault is formatted with an exclusive software to
best perform the High-Speed USB's high transfer rate. If formatted using any other
software, it is possible that the performance deteriorates or that a data error
happens depending on the computers or on the OS. Should any of such conditions
happen, it is highly recommended to download and format the device again using 'Sony
Micro Vault Format Software'. (Be sure to backup your files before re-formatting) |

Special notice about transfer or disposal of this product
Even after erasing files or formatting the Micro Vault by using the normal procedure, data previously stored on the Micro Vault will still be present and can be retrieved or reused with the help of special software.
In order to prevent security risks and other problems, we recommend to completely erase any sensitive data, using commercial software available for this purpose. |
