[INSTRUCTIONS FOR INSTALLING UPDATED SOFTWARE]
This software is only intended for use with the Sony MicroVault™ USB Storage Devices models listed below:

IMPORTANT NOTES:
- This updated software is not required if you have already installed the patch on your computer. However, if you wish to install fingerprint authentication software on a new computer, you will need to install this updated version.
- Depending on the version of original fingerprint access software and on the computer on which it is installed, the updated software may not recognize as being encrypted certain folders that were encrypted by the original software. However, the files in such folders are properly encrypted, and such folders will be recognized as encrypted again if you encrypt such folders after the updated software is installed.
- A user must have administrative rights to install this update.
<STEP 1: DOWNLOAD INSTRUCTIONS>
Please read all information carefully before downloading and installing this software.
- Click the link for your model below:
- Click the “Instructions on Uninstalling and Manually Deleting the Microvault™ Software” link and print or save a copy of the uninstall instructions to your computer.
- If desired, click the DOWNLOAD icon to download a copy of the MicroVault™ operating instruction manual.
- Click the “DOWNLOAD” icon and download the .exe file to a temporary or download directory. Please note this directory for future reference.
<STEP 2: INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS>
- Follow the Instructions on Uninstalling and Manually Deleting the Microvault™ Software to uninstall the existing version of the software on your computer. If the software is not currently installed, please skip this step.
IMPORTANT: Once the old software is uninstalled, you will not be able to retrieve encrypted files until the installation of the updated software is completed. It is recommended that you decrypt all encrypted files on the device and on any computer, and store such decrypted files on such computer and/or other removable recording media before uninstalling the software.
- Go to the directory where the updated software file was downloaded and double-click the file.
- When prompted, click “OK” to extract the files.
Note: A folder titled “USM-C” for USM64C and USM-128C, “USM-F” for USM128F and USM256F, or “USM-FL” for USM512FL will be created on the desktop.
- Open the folder and double-click the file “setup.exe” to begin the installation process. Follow the on-screen prompts carefully to complete the installation.
