Back to Products

Main Features

Data cartridge developed by taking full advantage of Sony's 8mm tape format technology.

Cleaning Cartridge

D8 developed based on Sony's 8mm video technology

The D8 data format tape was developed based on Sony's 8mm video technology for use in data preservation and software distribution.

Main features of the 8mm data cartridge

The QG series 8mm data cartridge provides both the stability and reliability required for the D8 format, thanks to the utilization of Sony's metal technology. Known as Super Stable Metal Tape, it has excellent archival properties.

Cartridge case to protect the shell from accidents

The cartridge case is made of highly durable polypropylene, which is resistant to breakage and chipping. The rounded corners of the cartridge case help it to absorb mechanical shock when dropped.

Media Recognition System (MRS)

The stripe pattern of the QGD160MB splicing tape allows quick laser detection of compatibility between media and drive.
