- In 2004, I attended a lecture by William McDonough which inspired me to rethink my design approach. As a designer at Sony, I saw this was an opportunity to combine my passion for the environment with my knowledge of technology and create innovative models and services based upon the needs of tomorrow.
- It is important for Sony to launch "socially responsible" models not based on trend but to lead by example. This project for prototyping eco-friendly models officially started in 2007. We had two months to develop the concept, model, packaging mock-ups and proof of concept prototypes.
- "odo" brings new value in user-generated kinetic energy and playful models interaction for children. Our concept models are inspired by children's imagination and curiosity designed to provide new experiences and social awareness along with eco-friendliness. (see more about "odo")
- In the next phase we will investigate other alternative power sources while we refine the current industrial design and continue to investigate the feasibility of the kinetic engine.
