All controls are on front, a definite advantage when the unit is slung over a shoulder as intended. This model made the concept of modular video components a reality. Combined with the "HVC-F1" video camera, it could be used to shoot movies; with the identically sized "PCM-F1", it opened the door to digital audio entertainment.
